Even here in Spain there are times when people would like to go on holiday, yet do not always take their pets with them. Running a small pets holiday service could really help your friends and neighbours.
This is an excellent opportunity especially in these days of difficulties. Not everyone can afford to pay huge pet kennels fees yet if their lovely pet was offered an opportunity to go on holiday as well and share some time perhaps in the country areas then it is excellent.
I look after a beautiful male jack russell who comes and stays with me and my female jack russell for his holidays while his mom and dad go off on their travels. We have a great time, as we live close to the beach and mountains we are able to go for long walks. The two dogs really enjoy the company of each other. I enjoy having them together as well as my dog sometimes shows signs of being a bit lonely - so it makes a nice change for her to have visitor. She also has a friend close by whom she goes for walks with most mornings.
You could consider the option as it would help loads of people in difficult situations, whether you choose to offer dog walking, grooming or just dog sitting as an option. We all need help sometimes so having someone who loves and will care for their pet is useful. You could also check to see if there is any help you could offer to your local vet as a temporary foster home while an animal is recovering or in need of some tlc while it is getting ready to go home. I know my local vet has brought home animals which have needed extra tlc overnight, so it is worth considering.
